Flatland
/ 2016
Flatland is a performance inspired by a fictional novella; Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions, written by Edwin A. Abbott. In this two-dimensional world, the perception of space is flattened. A square becomes a line, and a line becomes a point.
Formed by two triangles, this design contains two flat objects that can be transformed into various three-dimensional forms. Each posture holds the potential to be interpreted as a particular human expression; curious, confident, shy, or aggressive. In turn, the dialogue between the two formerly static objects becomes the core of this experimental, dynamic performance.
