Frictionner l’Air
/ 2017
The credit for this design inspiration is awarded to the well-known film of Andrei Tarkovsky, Stalker. His inquiry around the belief of existence and non-existence resonates with Yunya’s personal, previous experience exploring ruins and ancient architecture. She remained conscious to act lightly and not bother any surrounding spirits, responding only with carefulness.
Frictionner l’Air transforms a very cautious tension in the movements of four tubes. A dialogue between the space and the body is triggered by an inevitable, invisible force — the friction of the air.
Four tubes wander consciously on a line, amusing themselves at discovering their desires. What they’re searching for, in reality, is nothing but the energy inside the soul. It is just their friction with the air holding them back.

Quatre tubes errent consciemment sur une ligne, s’amusant à découvrir leurs désirs. Ce qu’ils nomment ainsi en réalité n’a rien à voir avec l’énergie de l’âme. Ce n’est que le produit de leur friction avec l’air.
