As a manifesto project, Ribbon questions how form can be guided by the internal forces of materials.
Specifically, how does a structural idea create a form ? How can a strong structure be created by using less materials ? How does an object achieve a new equilibrium by absorbing additional forces ? How can we collectively enhance the awareness of utilization so as to possess a more sensitive user experience ?
This initial inquisitiveness was evoked while seeing the project Thin Table, created by Japanese architect Junya Ishigami.
