Ribbon V

Ribbon is a series of manifesto furniture designs which reveals its inner strengths by its form.
Designed and developed as an adult-sized stool, Ribbon V is comprised of only one sheet of veneer. The middle of the sheet is first reinforced by a patch of veneer, hosting an opposite fiber direction. By bending a 2-mm veneer into two loops, the stool obtains this stable form.
Debunking the assumptions of fragility and firmness, Ribbon V reveals the resistance of the veneer and earns a more conscious use.
