Windy

/ 2017

Windy is a fictional architecture project created for a theater piece—La Maison—in collaboration with Castor Collectif. The performance was first shown at Théâtre de la Cité international in 2017 during the Festival Horizons Nécessaires.

This fictional story takes place in 2077. Due to the evolution of technology and new policy initiatives, the urban landscape of Grand Pâris is entirely transformed. In order to complete this urban renewal, La Cité Internationale, a utopia of the old days, becomes the next target of politicians. Nevertheless, the habitants are so proud of their self-sufficient lifestyle that they firmly refuse this proposal. So as to persuade them, the government eventually asked Rof & Cof company to design this high-tech and self-sufficient architecture, Windy.

The generators in the Windy’s hallow core sponsors the ability to transform the updraft in electricity. Its own water purifying system can reuse the rain water and recycle the sewage. The public space, including a park, library, swimming pool, and supermarket, provides a complete service for daily needs. Finally, with the cutting-edge virtual intelligent assistant “Leo”, the residents can rearrange the interior settings in a second and enjoy the maximum space at all time.

So, through the eyes of the beholder :
Should La Maison be demolished ?
